[Product Packaging Change Notice] Implementing ESG Commitments with Eco-Friendly Box Packaging
Turning Carbon Inventory Insights into ESG-Driven Packaging Improvements
As global sustainability and net-zero carbon initiatives continue to gain importance, companies are expected to take greater environmental responsibility across product design, manufacturing, transportation, and supply chain management. UPRtek has long focused on the development and manufacturing of high-precision handheld spectrometers, while continuously integrating ESG principles into daily operations and product lifecycle management.
In response to the carbon reduction direction established through its recent greenhouse gas inventory and carbon management initiatives, UPRtek has continued to review the environmental impact of product packaging, material usage, and logistics. Effective July 2026, the outer packaging for UPRtek handheld spectrometer shipments will gradually transition from the original aluminum carrying case to a high-strength, recyclable eco-friendly paper box, reducing the environmental impact associated with product packaging.

Reducing the Use of Energy-Intensive Materials Through More Sustainable Packaging
The extraction, processing, and transportation of aluminum generally involve higher energy consumption and carbon emissions. To further support low-carbon operations and green supply chain management, UPRtek has reviewed the necessity of existing packaging materials and evaluated more sustainable alternatives. As a result, high-density recyclable paperboard has been selected as the main material for the new outer shipping box.
While reducing the environmental burden of packaging materials, the new design still maintains the structural strength and protection required for product transportation. Through this packaging material change, UPRtek aims to gradually reduce carbon emissions and resource consumption across the product lifecycle without compromising product safety or user experience.

Maintaining Product Protection for Safe Transportation and Field Use
Packaging carbon reduction does not mean lowering product protection standards. The new eco-friendly paper box packaging has been structurally designed according to shipping requirements and has passed necessary shock-resistance and drop tests to ensure that products remain well protected during logistics and international transportation.
In addition, the heavy-duty fabric protective sleeve included with the handheld spectrometer will remain unchanged. During daily operation, outdoor measurement, and field testing, users can continue to rely on the protective sleeve for dustproof, scratch-resistant, and cushioning protection, ensuring both portability and practical usability.

Working with Customers Toward a More Sustainable Green Supply Chain
For UPRtek, sustainability is not only an internal management goal, but also a responsibility that extends to products, packaging, logistics, and customer applications. This packaging transition is a concrete result of UPRtek’s ESG commitments and carbon management actions, as well as an important step in continuously improving the environmental performance of its product life cycle.
Moving forward, UPRtek will continue to review carbon reduction opportunities across product design, packaging materials, supply chain processes, and operational management. Together with global customers and partners, UPRtek will continue working toward a greener and more environmentally responsible supply chain.
